A ranked flyweight will put her No. 12 on the line against a UFC newcomer this summer.
Marcelo Barone first reported the news that No. 12 ranked flyweight Talia Santos will fight Mandy Böhm on August 14 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. Böhm confirmed the match-up on social media.
After losing her UFC debut and suffering her first professional loss, Santos (17-1) has looked sensational. She kicked off her 2020 on ‘Fight Island’ by dominating Molly McCann and defeating her via unanimous decision. She would return five months later at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal in December and defeat Gillian Roberson, snatching her top 15 ranking in the process.
Böhm (7-0) will be making her debut and be looking to take Santos’ ranking in her first fight. The German fighter is coming off of a win over Griet Eeckhout at Bellator 247 last October. She is undefeated and fights out of SBG Ireland.
No location, venue, or broadcast details have yet to be announced by the promotion for UFC’s August 14 event. There are rumors that the card could be the UFC’s return to London.
