A pair of UFC welterweights will be looking to get back into the win column this August.
MMA Junkie was the first to report the news that Ramiz Brahimaj will fight Sasha Palatnikov on August 21 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. Both fighters would confirm the news on social media following the report.
Brahimaj (8-3) was unsuccessful in his UFC debut when he suffered one of the most gruesome injuries you’ll ever see. He lost via doctor stoppage when his opponent Max Griffin hit him with an elbow that severed his ear. The Fortis MMA fighter bypassed Dana White’s Contender Series.
Palatnikov (6-3) had his two-fight win streak snapped when Impa Kasanganay finished him at UFC on ABC 2 in April. Before the loss, he upset Louis Cosce by surviving the first-round onslaught and then defeating him via third-round TKO. He was a heavy underdog at +455.
No location, venue, or broadcast details have been announced by the promotion for UFC’s August 21 event. No main event has been announced as of yet.
