Edson “Junior” Barboza (21-9 MMA, 15-9 UFC)
Featherweight (145lbs.): 1-1 (UFC)
Lightweight (155lbs.): 14-8 (UFC)
When you think about fantastic kicks in the octagon you have to think about Edson Barboza. ‘Junior’ has been around the Ultimate Fighting Championship for a very long time and as most fans know he fought for the vast majority of his career with the promotion in the lightweight division. Nine out of his 11 years with the promotion were spent at 155lbs for Barboza but, though he was often close, he never got to challenge for the belt.
Edson decided to move down to the featherweight division in 2020 and though most fans questioned the decision due to Barboza’s chiselled physique, he has looked great on the scale thus far. Barboza dropped his first fight at featherweight to Dan Ige but was able to got on the right track with a win over Makwan Mirkhani last October.
Even at 35 with and a 5’11”, 75″ reach frame, Barboza looks good while weighing in at featherweight and walks around outside of camp at a lot lighter weight.
