A pair of middleweights will be looking to get back into the win column at a UFC Fight Night in July.
MMA Fighting was the first to report that Rodolfo Vieira will return against Dustin Stoltzfus at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event on July 17. Stoltzfus would confirm the news on his Instagram Story.
Vieira (7-1) suffered his first professional loss in a fight that had everyone talking earlier this year in February. “The Black Belt Hunter” faced off against Anthony Hernandez at UFC 258 and, after almost finishing his opponent, would totally gas out, and then he shockingly got submitted in the second round. Vieira was a heavy favorite going into the fight, which made the loss even wilder. Before that loss, he submitted Saparbek Safarov at UFC 248 in the first round.
Stoltzfus (13-2) will be looking for his first UFC win after losing to Kyle Daukaus in his UFC debut via unanimous decision. The loss to Daukaus snapped his 10-fight win streak. Stoltzfus won a UFC contract on season four of Dana White’s Contender Series against Joseph Pyfer. He would slam Pyfer and break his arm.
No location, venue, or broadcast details have yet to be announced by the promotion for UFC’s July 17 Fight Night event.
With the addition of this fight, the fight card now looks like this:
- Miesha Tate vs Marion Reneau
- Ode Osbourne vs. Amir Albazi
- Khalid Taha vs. Sergey Morozov
- Billy Quarantillo vs. Herbert Burns
- Rodolfo Vieira vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
