Canada’s Aaron Jeffery will have a second go at earning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.
On Sunday, Cageside Press confirmed that Jeffery (10-2) will take on Brazilian Caio Borralho (8-1, 1NC) on the Contender Series on September 28. MMA Fighting was first to report news of the booking.
The show is expected to return in the latter half of 2021 for its fifth season, airing on ESPN+ in the U.S., and UFC Fight Pass globally. No other bouts have been reported for the September 28 date.
Jeffery, a BTC middleweight champion at the time, first appeared on DWCS in 2019, only to be submitted by Brendan Allen, who has gone on to a successful UFC career. Since that loss, the Canadian has won four straight fights, most recently defeating Contender Series winner Collin Huckbody at CFFC 93 to win the Cage Fury middleweight championship.
Prior to that victory, the Niagara Top Team fighter had earned a stoppage win under the LFA banner.
Borralho, meanwhile, has not suffered defeat since 2015, with the only blemish on his record since then a No Contest under the Viking Fight Club banner in 2018. The Brazilian is the current Future FC middleweight champion, and will be appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series, and fighting outside of Brazil, for the first time.
