Bellator’s light heavyweight grand prix continued Friday at Bellator 257, complete with a title fight.
One of two quarterfinal match-ups on the card had 205lb champ Vadim Nemkov putting his title on the line against Phil Davis. Nemkov and “Mr. Wonderful” had first fought in 2018, with the Russian future champ claiming the victory by split decision. With the belt and a semifinal spot on the line Friday, both parties were motivated to ensure there would be a more definitive result the second time around.
The other light heavyweight grand prix quarterfinal saw Corey Anderson up against promotional newcomer Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov. Names like Paul Daley, Mads Burnell, and Julia Budd also peppered Friday’s event.
