A pair of exciting UFC bantamweights will collide in July.
Khalid Taha announced on his social media Thursday morning that he will be fighting Sergey Morozov on July 17 at a yet-to-be-announced event. Morozov would go on to confirm the booking on his own social media accounts.
“So proud, excited, and happy to announce my upcoming fight. I will fight the former M1 Champion Sergey Morozov. You better don’t miss it!” Taha wrote on Instagram.
Taha (13-3-1) is coming off a Fight of the Night performance against Raoni Barcelos last November at UFC on ESPN: Santos vs. Teixeira. He would lose a unanimous decision in the bout. His fight against Barcelos was his first back from a USADA suspension, stemming from a positive drug test for diuretics. Taha will be looking for his second UFC win this July.
Former M-1 bantamweight champion Morozov (16-4) made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs. Magny. Umar Nurmagomedov submitted him via a rear-naked choke. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak dating back to 2018.
Expect fireworks for this one.
No location, venue, or broadcast details have yet to be announced by the promotion for UFC’s July 17 Fight Night event.
With the addition of this fight, the fight card now looks like this:
- Miesha Tate vs Marion Reneau
- Ode Osbourne vs. Amir Albazi
- Khalid Taha vs. Sergey Morozov
