Dustin Jacoby was a member of the the UFC back in 2011 for an 0-2 stint. After that, he wound up released by the UFC, going on to kickbox under the Glory promotional banner. Dustin Jacoby was 10-8 in professional kickboxing but fought exceptional competition including kickboxing wizard Alex Pereira.
Jacoby fought a few times in MMA against some really good competition as well during the time period when he was kickboxing from 2012 to 2019. Dustin fought names like David Branch, Andrew Sanchez and King Mo in organizations like Cage Fury FC (CFFC), World Series of Fighting (WSOF) , Titan FC and Bellator.
Dustin Jacoby got a shot on the 2020 season of the Contender Series and defeated the 7-2 Ty Flores via unanimous decision. The performance was a great display of his striking and Jacoby received a UFC contract. In his return fight, after nearly 10 years away from the UFC, he displayed his feints and quick kickboxing combinations that had been honed after years competing in kickboxing (and boxing)— eating up his opponent’s leg, before finishing him fast hands back upstairs.
Because Jacoby got his first taste of the UFC at 23 years old and had so much experience within kickboxing, and even a pro boxing bout in 2018, his striking is extremely clean. Especially his combinations, and ability to mix strikes together. Jacoby has eight of his nine TKO/KO wins coming inside of the first round, (including his UFC re-debut against Justin Ledet), so fans should be on the lookout for a very violent fight to open up the prelims of UFC Vegas 20.
