A pair of ranked UFC flyweights will collide on May 22.
According to agfight.com, No. 10 ranked flyweight David Dvorak will fight No. 11 Raulian Paiva at a UFC event that has yet to be officially announced.
Czech Republic’s Dvorak (19-3) is riding a 15-fight winning streak and is 2-0 in the UFC. He is coming off a win of former ranked flyweight Jordan Espinosa at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley last year. Dvorak defeated Espinosa via unanimous decision. Before Espinosa, Dvorak debuted in the octagon six months earlier on the last fight before the sports world shut down because of COVID-19. He defeated Bruno Silva.
Paiva (20-3) is also coming off of a two wins 2020. He knocked out Mark De La Rosa in February and then returned five months later to defeat Zhalgas Zhumagulov via unanimous decision at UFC 251 on ‘Fight Island.’ The Brazilan flyweight was supposed to return on Halloween last year to fight No. 13 ranked Amir Albazi but had to withdraw due to a torn ACL. Paiva will be looking to go on a three-win streak since losing his first two UFC fights and will be trying to break into the top ten.
There are no other fights for the promotion’s May 22 event reported at the moment.
