The heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane that was previously scheduled for March will now headline the UFC Fight Night on February 27.

Heavyweight contenders Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane will be the new main event on February 27, per Rozenstruik’s Twitter.  The two were previously set to fight on March 13 but have been moved up to a little under a month from now and are now scheduled to fight five rounds.  There has been no news on why the previous main event, a fight between light heavyweight contenders Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka, is no longer headlining the card.

Rozenstruik (11-1) is looking to continue regaining momentum after his impressive 2019 campaign announced him to the MMA world.  “Bigi Boy” entered the UFC two years ago and reeled off four consecutive victories, needing less than two minutes overall to dispatch his first three opponents.  Following a loss to Francis Ngannou in May, Rozenstruik bounced back with a stoppage of former champion Junior dos Santos in August.

Ciryl Gane (7-0) is looking to go from prospect to bonafide contender as he looks for the eighth victory of his young career.  First being discovered through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019, Gane went 3-0 in the Octagon before being sidelined most of 2020.  He did finally book a bout, defeating former champion dos Santos in December.

The event is set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
