Canada’s Gillian Robertson and Invicta FC alum Miranda Maverick are lined up to face off inside the UFC octagon this February.
On Wednesday, Cageside Press confirmed with sources close to the situation that verbal agreements are in place for the bout, which is expected to take place at UFC 258 on February 13, 2021 in Las Vegas. Maverick initially announced the booking via social media.
Robertson (9-5), originally from Niagara Falls and training out of Florida under Din Thomas, has been the most active female flyweight in UFC history. She also holds records for wins and stoppages in the weight class. In her last outing, the Canadian came up short, losing a decision against Taila Santos at UFC Vegas 17. However, “The Savage” was 2-1 overall in 2020, with wins over Cortney Casey and Poliana Botelho.
Maverick (8-2) made her octagon debut back in November at UFC 254 on Fight Island. “Fear the” Maverick battered Liana Jojua en route to a doctor’s stoppage TKO following the opening round.
Under the Invicta FC banner, Maverick won the Invicta FC Phoenix Series 2 Flyweight Tournament in 2019.
