Youtuber Jake Paul continues to find creative new ways to extend his 15 minutes of fame. Currently being sued over an assault claim by a man who says Paul’s crew beat him up at a house party (Jake Paul himself is not accused of having thrown a punch, only hiring the goons in question), Paul has continued to pursue a boxing match with Conor McGregor. Via any means necessary.
That includes insulting McGregor’s wife, insulting UFC President Dana White, posting a rambling tirade against McGregor on social media, and now, videotaping himself assaulting McGregor’s SBG Ireland teammate Dillon Danis with projectiles after driving up on the Bellator fighter/Jiu-jitsu ace in Santa Monica, California.
Paul posted footage of the incident on social media on Tuesday.

Throwing trash and water balloons out the back of a pick-up truck at Danis (2-0 MMA) while yelling profanities ranks up there as about the most high school way of landing a boxing match, ever. It would be comical, if not for the recently revealed lawsuit against Paul — and the fact that, after hurling a number of objects at Danis, and calling him a “p*ssy,” Paul can be heard yelling “dip dip dip” as he urged his driver to speed away from Danis, who charged towards the vehicle.
Danis, of course, has never been the most popular fighter in MMA. Since his involvement in the UFC 229 melee in which Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped out of the cage to attack him and other SBG Ireland team members, he’s been pretty much mired in controversy. But as an associate of McGregor, Paul is no doubt thinking that Danis might be the way to a money fight with the Irish star.
Then again, there’s always the chance Paul and Danis set the whole thing up. Per a report by MMA Junkie, Danis was in Santa Monica filming an episode of Food Truck Diaries with Brendan Schaub. There’s no word on why Jake Paul was in the area, unless he generally drives around in the back of a pickup loaded with the type of ammunition third graders throw at recess.
Paul is coming off a win against former NBA star Nate Robinson as part of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. undercard late last month. 2-0 as a boxer, the 23-year old has claimed he has a $50 million dollar contract for McGregor to sign, if the Irish star is willing to face him in the ring.
Update, Dec. 17, 8:30PM ET — take a look at another angle of the incident, and judge for yourself whether this one was staged. In this clip posted by Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub, Danis can be seen laughing before the first projectile is even thrown.
