A lightweight scrap with plenty of finishing potential at UFC Vegas 16 saw Justin Jaynes return to take on Gabriel Benitez. The “Guitar Hero” Jaynes was 1-1 in the UFC, and a finisher through and through. Benitez himself owned 17 finish wins in a 29-fight and counting career. Meaning the likelihood of this bout ending inside the distance was high.
On a night with a nasty slam KO and a couple of other big finishes, one more would certainly be welcome. “Moggly” Benitez started the action by going hard to the body with a kick. Jaynes would later go on the offensive, leading with his right hand, but Benitez continued attacking the body and legs with his kicks. Soon enough, Benitez had some swelling around the eye, while Jaynes had redness on the leg. Benitez even managed to target Jaynes’ back leg with his kicks. After a break for a stray low blow, Gabriel Benitez surged forward with a knee to the body. That floored Justin Jaynes, who was unable to do anything but cover up. Follow-up strikes sealed the deal, but the knee got the job done.
A KNEE TO THE CHEST 😳
That is it! @Moggly_Benitez times an INSANE finish to close the show.
