Rafael dos Anjos (#6)
Okay, he might not currently be in the title picture, but a former champion has some standing. If anyone recognizes that, it should be Chandler.
Although their title-reigns overlapped by just a couple of weeks in the summer of 2016, both dos Anjos and Chandler were among the best 155-pound fighters on the planet from 2014-2016. While a bout between the duo in 2021 doesn’t have the shine it might’ve a few years ago, it’s still an undeniably fun match-up.
Plus, it would matter. RDA is currently ranked sixth in the UFC lightweight rankings, coming off of his victory over Paul Felder. It was an impressive return to 155-pounds for dos Anjos, who has his sights set on a fight with the former Bellator title-holder. If Gaethje-Hooker ends up being the route the promotion goes, fighting RDA sounds like a great way to begin Chandler’s UFC run.
