Prediction
There is a lot to like about both Nikolas Motta and Joe Lowry, especially as both come to their fights looking for the finish. Which is exactly what you want to see on DWCS. But while I do like Lowry, there are a lot of questions about his durability. There’s not a lot of footage on him either, so it’s difficult to get a great read.
Motta meanwhile is very talented on the feet and is someone who I think can give many guys in the UFC problems. The difficulty is, he’s defensively flawed, has been knocked out before, and his TDD needs work. If Lowry if he wants, he should be able to just wrestle Motta. He could very well knock Motta out, but he would be playing with fire.
I’m taking Lowry in this one, because he is the more well-rounded fighter, and if he can take Motta down he should be able to control the fight. I wouldn’t be surprised if Motta finished Lowry, but looking at Lowry’s sole KO loss, it was due to elbows from Devonte Smith, so no shame there.
