Jose Aldo
Another bantamweight who fought for the belt earlier this year could be an interesting option for Dillashaw’s return: Jose Aldo. Still looking for his first win at 135-pounds, after losses to Marlon Moraes and Petr Yan, Aldo is reportedly being targeted for a match-up with Marlon Vera at UFC 255 in November.
That would make a January or February bout with Dillashaw a little less likely, depending on how the fight with Vera goes. Either way, Aldo doesn’t seem to be wasting time at bantamweight. He’s slated for three fights in less than a year, against a very tough trio of opponents. With a win over Vera, you’d have to imagine the two former title-holders would be on each other’s radar in 2021.
