The main card of Bellator Milan (Bellator Euro Series 8) on Saturday put the spotlight on the middleweight division. It was something of a middleweight spectacle, really, with all three fights coming at 185lbs. Topped, of course, by what had become a grudge match between Fabian Edwards (brother of UFC welterweight standout Leon Edwards) and Costello van Steenis.
The pair had exchanged words at the weigh-in. van Steenis insisted that the dislike was real, labeling Edwards the type of fighter who does his talking for the cameras. In any case, the pair would get a chance to settle their differences inside the cage on Saturday, at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy.
Outside of the main event, Saturday’s Bellator Euro Series 8 card also saw appearances by Ireland’s Will Fleury, taking on Kent Kauppinen, and Mike Shipman — the London Shootfighters combatant otherwise known as Sea Bass.
Airing on Channel 5 in the U.K., Bellator Euro Series 8 was available elsewhere live and free via the promotion’s official Youtube channel. The main card of the Milan-based event kicked off at 5PM ET — you can view all the action via the embed above.
