We all knew about the bad blood leading up to Tyron Woodley vs. Colby Covington, but tonight we finally witnessed both men settle their differences inside the UFC Octagon. There was no love lost going into the main event, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The talk was finally over however. Instead, we witnessed the the ending of a well documented rivalry. As the fight began, we knew there wasn’t going to be a touch of gloves and with that, the intensity of the fight grew immensely.
The pressure from Colby Covington seemed to be the difference maker in this fight, with “Chaos” landing strikes at will while controlling the clinch. Going into the fifth, Tyron Woodley’s coaches knew he needed a finish and stressed that to their fighter. It was Colby who got the finish, however, but not how he may have wanted it. It appeared to be an injury to Woodley’s ribs that made him unable to continue. For Colby Covington, bragging rights will be his until the end of time after his dominate performance over his long time foe, Tyron Woodley.
