Mickey Gall will return to action next month, taking on the undefeated Miguel Baeza on September 19.
The welterweight pairing was first reported by MMA Fighting. The bout will be Gall’s second of the pandemic, following a loss to Mike Perry in June. It’s also the second pandemic era fight for Baeza, who defeated Matt Brown in May.
Gall (6-3) has been trading wins and losses of late, after entering the UFC on a three fight win streak. But the competition has picked up, and Gall’s early wins came over Mike Jackson (1-1 as a pro) and CM Punk (0-2 as a pro, who lost to Jackson). Since then, Gall has victories over Sage Northcutt, George Sullivan, and Salim Touahri. But he’s struggled in steps up in competition against the likes of Perry and Diego Sanchez.
Baeza (9-0) defeated Hector Aldana prior to defeating Brown. He took home a win on the Contender Series in 2019 against Victor Reyna as well.
The UFC’s September 19 card is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The following bouts have been reported for the card:
