“Cast Iron” will be looking to celebrate Halloween with a win inside the octagon. On October 31, Cortney Casey will take on Priscila Cachoeira, at a UFC event yet expected to be headlined by Anderson Silva.
Brazil’s Combate was first to report the booking.
While Dana White recently let slip that Silva and Uriah Hall would serve as the card’s main event — in what may or may not be the last fight ever for “The Spider” — no location has been officially announced. Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi would likely be in the running, however.
In the meantime, flyweight Casey (9-8) will look to get back in the win column after suffering a third-round submission defeat at the hands of Gillian Robertson back in June. Casey has spent a good chunk of her UFC career at strawweight, but made her 125lb debut in May of this year with a Performance of the Night submission win over Mara Romero Borella. She’s 2-2 in her last four bouts.
Cachoeira (9-3) snapped a three-fight skid and picked up her first win inside the octagon when she defeated Shana Dobson at UFC Auckland. Prior to that, she had dropped bouts to Valentina Shevchenko, Molly McCann and Luana Carolina — although you can probably forgive her for the Shevchenko loss.
