RIZIN Fighting Federation returned to action Sunday, with RIZIN 22, the first of two back-to-back cards, going down in Yokohama, Japan.
Among the big winners on the night, Roberto de Souza, a danger on the mat thanks to his BJJ credentials, defeated Yusuke Yachi within a round. Though not via submission. Instead, de Souza picked up the TKO finish in under two minutes.
Former Invicta FC champ Ayaka Hamaski, who lost the RIZIN Super Atomweight title to Seo Hee Ham back in December, returned to the win column Saturday. Improving to 20-3 overall, she submitted Tomo Maesawa in the second round.
Other standouts including Kanna Asakura and former UFC fighter Naoki Inoue also picked up key wins at the event, which was held in a partial-capacity arena.
