Invicta FC’s second card in the month of July took place Thursday night, with what wound up being a five-fight event. Invicta FC 41 was topped by strawweight action, as Montserrat Ruiz made quick work of former title challenger Janaisa Morandin in the main event. A keylock submission in the opening round saw Ruiz rebound nicely from a loss in her last fight.
Morandin, meanwhile, will go back to the drawing board after also missing weight for the event.
Erin Blanchfield continued to impress, earning a unanimous decision over Brogan Sanchez in the co-main event. The trio of 30-26 scorecards only told part of the tale, as Blanchfield was likely seconds away from a TKO win when the buzzer sounded to end the fight.
It would not be at all shocking to see Blanchfield on the Contender Series or in the UFC in the not-too-distance future.
