Roman Dolidze closed out the UFC Fight Island 2 preliminary card with a huge knockout win over Khadis Ibragimov in the first round.
In the featured preliminary fight at UFC Fight Island 2, light heavyweight Roman Dolidze was set to make his promotional debut. The Georgian fighter was an undefeated prospect with six wins overall. Originally expected to make his Octagon debut last year, injury then the coronavirus pushed it back to this Saturday night.
Welcoming Dolidze to the UFC was Khadis Ibragimov, a former M-1 light heavyweight champion who had lost his first two outings in the UFC. Making Saturday very likely a much-win situation for Ibragimov.
There was a measured approach to start round one, as both fighters were just mainly feeling each other out. Not much action for the large portion of the round. With a minute to go in the frame, Dolidze threw a kick, and the knee landed flush on the jaw of Ibragimov. That sent Ibragimov down and the extra shots sent the ref in.
Just like that, Roman Dolidze had a huge KO win in his UFC debut. Certainly worthy of being in that featured prelim slot in the end. Watch the finish below!
