Invicta FC has announced its second event set for the summer, with Invicta FC 41 being set for July 30 in Kansas City.
Days out from Invicta FC’s official return on July 2, the promotion announced its second event since the COVID-19 pandemic hit earlier this year. The promotion revealed via a press release that Invicta FC 41 will be set for July 30 in Kansas City, with no fans or media once again. The fights are also expected to be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass.
The Invicta FC 41 main event is a battle of top strawweights, as former title challenger Janaisa Morandin is set to take on Mexico’s Montserrat Ruiz. Morandin is riding a two-fight losing streak at the moment, having lost to Virna Jandiroba in a bid for the title in September 2018, then following up that with a knockout loss to former title challenger Emily Ducote last August. Ruiz on the other hand is looking to rebound off a loss to former UFC veteran Danielle Taylor in her Invicta debut in 2018.
The co-main event of the card is expected to be a battle of flyweight prospects. That will see 21-year-old contender Erin Blanchfield taking on Stephanie Geltmacher. Blanchfield is coming off back-to-back wins, with her last win being a beautiful head kick knockout victory over Victoria Leonardo in February. Geltmacher, on the other hand, is coming off a tough decision loss to Victoria Leonardo in August of last year.
Invicta FC 41 is scheduled to go down July 30 in Kansas City, Kansas. The card will air live exclusively on UFC Fight Pass starting at 7 p.m. CT. The entire six-fight card is listed below.
