Hannah Cifers was making a rather quick turnaround at UFC on ESPN 10 on Saturday. The Vegas card, the third straight at the UFC Apex, saw Cifers enter off a loss to Mackenzie Dern. That fight transpired just two weeks ago, on May 30 on the first UFC Vegas card. This time around, she was set to welcome promotional newcomer Mariya Agapova to the fold.
Agapova started the night on a two-fight win streak, both victories picked up inside the Invicta FC cage.
The fight took off at full steam with Agapova landing a right hand a few times on the shorter Cifers. Both women were swinging early on, but Agapova was landing much cleaner thanks to her much longer frame. Cifers would grab the clinch where she was best equipped for offense, but couldn’t really get anything off. Agapova then landed a beautiful head kick hidden behind a fake left hand, dropping Cifers. Cifers popped right back up, but Agapova jumped on the back sinking in the rear-naked choke — which forced Cifers to tap.
THE HEAD KICK! THE SUB! 😳

In her post-fight interview, Agapova called out Shana “Danger” Dobson. A bit out of left field, as Dobson has lost her last three bouts.
Official Result: Mariya Agapova def. Hannah Cifers by Submission (Rear-naked Choke), Round 1, 2:42
