On Thursday afternoon, UFC President Dana White spoke with UFC commentator Jon Anik to unveil the full fight card for their event next Saturday on June 13. The card is set to take place in Las Vegas after the recent ruling that combat sports events are cleared to take place in the state without fans as organizations follow strict health code regulations amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously announced is the flyweight main event between Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo. Eye is looking to get back into title contention and earn her second victory in a row after coming up short in her challenge for the belt last year. After starting her UFC career as a strawweight, Calvillo will be moving up to flyweight for the bout where she hopes to leap forward in the rankings with a win over a former title challenger.
Two new fights that were announced on Thursday afternoon were a lightweight bout between Charles Rosa and Kevin Aguilar and a bantamweight bout between Julia Avila and Gina Mazany. Avila had previously been expected to face Karol Rosa. Other notable match-ups on the card will include the co-main event between Karl Roberson and Marvin Vettori at middleweight and a bantamweight bout featuring Merab Dvalishvili and Ray Borg. Borg recently competed less than a month ago at the UFC’s event in Jacksonville on May 13.
