A welterweight showdown has joined the ranks of April’s UFC 249. Belal Muhammad will be looking to make it three straight wins when he takes on former Bellator champ Lyman Good at the event. MMA Junkie was first to report the news on Tuesday, which Muhammad later verified.
Muhammad (16-3) has won his last two octagon outings, against Takashi Sato and Curtis Millender. ‘Remember the Name’ is 6-1 across his last seven fights, with his only loss in that span coming to Geoff Neal at UFC Brooklyn last year. Muhammad’s last fight, against Sato, earned him a Performance of the Night bonus thanks to a third-round rear-naked choke that caught the Japanese fighter.
Lyman Good (21–5, 1NC), in addition to being a former Bellator welterweight champ, won gold at 170lbs in Cage Fury prior to joining the UFC. He’s 3-2 inside the octagon to date, most recently earning a win over Chance Rencountre at UFC 244.
