Jon Jones has yet another title defense under his belt. It did not, however, come easy. And when the dust had cleared following the UFC 247 main event on Saturday in Houston, a lot of onlookers left feeling cheated.
Challenger Dominick Reyes was certainly on their side. Reyes was certain he had won rounds one through three in the five round main event. He had Jon Jones under fire early. Knocked him down. Forced him to go on the defensive. Lit him up at times. While the rounds were close, Reyes gave Jones one of the best tests of his career, alongside Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Santos.
Jones, to be certain, came on in the fourth and fifth. He began landing takedowns, although Reyes was able to power back up nearly each and every time.
In the end, two judges had it as a one round fight, 48-47. One had it 49-46 for Jones, a score that raised a number of eyebrows in particular.
While it was a big night for “Bones,” a number of his peers had him losing the fight as well. See how his fellow pros reacted to the fight below.

I got Reyes 2 rounds. Great round by both fighters. Reyes chopping at that front leg of Jones. Jones throwing hard body kicks. Let’s hope Reyes keeps that left hand up. #UFC247

Not sure about the score cards . They awarded pressure tonight . What scores more PRESSURE or point strikes ? There’s is no concrete answer . We need a standard judging system! #UFC247
— Derek Brunson (@DerekBrunson) February 9, 2020
I don't agree with the scoring. But I knew I could've went either way.#UFC247
— Corey Anderson UFC (@CoreyA_MMA) February 9, 2020
Damn I think Reyes got robbed. What do yall think? @ufc
— Matt Van Buren (@GutterMMA) February 9, 2020
Not robbery. Close fight, could have gone either way. 3-1 or 2-2 going into 5th. I thought 3-2 Reyes but the fight was so close it could have gone either way.
