Invicta FC 39’s weigh-in didn’t unfold the way many expected, resulting in something of a shake-up for Friday night’s show. Atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey is a champion no longer, after missing weight for her headlining title bout against Ashley Cummins. Frey was forced to relinquish the title, making only Cummins eligible to become champ with a win.

Reportedly, Frey will earn a title shot with a victory, and a chance to reclaim the title she won back in 2018. But for now, it’s a one-sided main event when it comes to the spoils.

As well, Shanna Young, who fell ill during fight week, was not cleared to fight, and removed from the card.
