Jamie Mullarkey will be in search of his first win in the octagon when he takes on Jalin Turner at UFC Auckland.
UFC Auckland has a pair of interesting fights added to its line-up. At lightweight, Jamie Mullarkey is set to face off with Jalin Turner, while Callan Potter will take on Song Kenan at welterweight.
The Sydney Morning Herald was first to report the news.
Jamie Mullarkey’s addition to the UFC Auckland card should be something for fans to get excited over. Mullarkey (12-3) is coming off a loss to Brad Riddell in a Fight of the Night effort at UFC 243 in Australia back in October. Mullarkey proved to have a ton of heart, and a granite chin, during that battle. Now, he needs to prove he can pull off a win inside the octagon.
Jalin Turner (8-5) is also coming off a loss, to Matt Frevola. The Contender Series winner is 1-2 in the UFC so far, with the other loss coming to top welterweight Vicente Luque. Turner dropped to 155lb after that loss, earning his first win in the promotion against Callan Potter.
Speaking of Potter (18-8), he’ll look to make it two in a row in the 170lb division at UFC Auckland. Potter, who defeated Maki Pitolo at UFC 243, gets Song Kenan — who is 3-1 in the octagon so far. Song (15-5) most recently defeated Derrick Krantz. Interestingly enough, he has yet to fight outside of Asia, with all of his fights coming in China, Japan, and Singapore.
UFC Auckland takes place February 23, 2020 at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The card is headlined by a lightweight scrap between Dan Hooker and Paul Felder.
