KSW welterweight champion Roberto Soldic has a new opponent for this weekend’s KSW 50, the promotion announced Tuesday.
It’ll be a short-notice replacement who steps into the cage with KSW’s 170lb champion this weekend. Roberto Soldic had been set to face Patrik Kincl with the welterweight title on the line aat KSW 50 in London, England on Saturday. However, injury has forced Kincl off the card. Now, Soldic will face Michal Pietrzak at a catchweight of 80kg (roughly 176lbs). Needless to say, the title will not be on the line.
KSW officials announced the news via press release. Soldic (16-3) had been expected to take part in one of four title fights on the KSW 50 card. The 24-year old boasts fourteen wins via TKO/KO, and has won his last three fights.
Pietrzak (8-3) holds both wrestling and no-gi grappling titles, and came in second in the 2017 Polish Championships (85kg, no-gi). The Ankos MMA fighter has won his last three fights, and will be making his KSW debut against Soldic.
The other title fights at KSW 50 will see Phil De Fries defend his heavyweight belt against Luis Henrique in the main event, while Tomasz Narkun puts his 205lb title on the line against Przemyslaw Mysiala. Norman Parke and Marcin Wrzosek, meanwhile, will battle for an interim lightweight belt.
