Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez were looking to punch their ticket to Grand Prix finales at ONE Championship: Dawn of Heroes, with Alvarez getting a second chance as an injury replacement.
ONE Championship’s latest offering, Dawn of Heroes, went down Friday morning in Manila, Philippines, and shaped the course of the promotion in several weight classes, at least for the new few months. The flyweight world grand prix finals would be set, while one of Eduard Folayang and Eddie Alvarez would also move on to the lightweight grand prix finale.
And in the main event, Martin Nguyen returned to defend his featherweight world title against Japan’s Koyomi Matsushima.
