Jessica Andrade Robbed at Gunpoint
Newly crowned UFC women’s strawweight champion, Jessica Andrade, was carjacked and robbed at gunpoint this last week. The attack happened on May 29 in Brazil. Her car was recovered two days later.
Alexander Gustafsson Retires
A long staple in the UFC light heavyweight division has hung up the gloves. After his loss in Stockholm to Anthony Smith, Alexander Gustafsson retired in the cage, throwing down the gloves. “The show’s over,” said Gustafsson as he gave his farewell speech in his home city.
Anthony Joshua Upset by Andy Ruiz Jr.
Former boxing world champion, Anthony Joshua, was upset by Andy Ruiz Jr. at MSG this weekend. Joshua was a -2000 favorite in Vegas before being knocked out in the seventh round after four knockdowns. Joshua has a rematch clause in his contract, forcing a Joshua-Ruiz 2 fight in the near future.
