Light heavyweights Aleksander Rakic and Jimi Manuwa collided in the co-main event of UFC Stockholm, and what a collision it was!
Jimi Manuwa had lost three straight heading into UFC Stockholm. He was desperately in need of a win, even in a division as thin as 205lbs. Aleksander Rakic was on the opposite end of the scale. 11-1 entering the night. On an eleven fight winning streak, and looking to build his name.
He did just that at UFC Stockholm, in under a minute. He also made a poster out of “Poster Boy” Jimi Manuwa.
Manuwa opened the action with a kick to the leg, then took a big swing, showing that power. Rakic was firing leg kicks of his own, and threatening with his right hand. Rakic then fired off a massive head kick on the next exchange, absolutely crushing Jimi Manuwa! The kick connected clean to the side of Manuwa’s head, sending him crashing back to the canvas. Manuwa did not get up for some time. Rakic had a highlight reel finish.
UNBELIEVABLE!

“I’m doing this kick since I’m a kid. My background is kickboxing, I’ve been fighting almost 14 years, and the left high kick is my special weapon,” Rakic said in the octagon post-fight. “I throw it all the time, especially after the right uppercut.”
“Remember my name, because I am the new dog in the park,” he finished.
