Bellator: Milan is set to feature both kickboxing and MMA action this October, with Alessio Sakara once again featuring on the card.
Bellator MMA will return to Italy in October. On Wednesday, the promotion announced that it would head to Milan for a double bill, featuring both MMA and Bellator kickboxing action. The card will take place October 12, going down at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy. While no bouts were officially announced, Bellator Kickboxing’s Chingiz Allazov and former UFC fighter and Bellator star Alessio Sakara were revealed as appearing.
Sakara (20-13, 2NC) was last seen in December at Bellator 221. There, he was knocked out by Kent Kauppinen in a surprising upset to finish the night. Sakara, who hails from Rome originally, has fought all five of his Bellator fights in Italy. That includes a failed bid at the promotion’s middleweight title in 2017 against Rafael Carvalho. Overall, the Italian is 3-2 in Bellator.
Allazov, meanwhile, came up short against Georgi Petrosyan in an effort to secure the vacant Bellator Kickboxing lightweight world title last year. He bounced back in November, however, beating Mohamed Hendouf outside the promotion.
