Fighter Bio: Get to Know Island Fights Welterweight Christian Lohsen

We got to know more about 7-1 welterweight prospect Christian Lohsen, who pulled off a banana split submission in the Island Fights promotion.

• Favorite striking and grappling technique?
  My favorite striking technique would have to be a question mark kick. My favorite grappling technique would be either a banana split or a cryangle.
• Any MMA fighters that inspired you?
  I don’t know if a single fighter inspired me. Through the years many have given inspiration that all meshed together.
• Favorite current fighter?
  A favorite current fighter would probably be Max Holloway.
• Lion King or Toy Story? 
  Lion King.
• PlayStation or Xbox? 
  XBox
• Skittles or M&M’s? 
  Skittles.
• Favorite song? 
  My favorite song is always changing but right now it’s probably Bad Guy from Billie Eilish.
• Favorite TV show? 
  Avatar: The Last Airbender.
• Favorite Movie?
  My favorite movie depends on the genre but a classic I can watch no matter how many times I’ve seen it is The Last Dragon.
• Cats or dogs?
  Dogs.

Living in Deland, Florida, but born in Lodi, California, Lohsen was into combat sports at an early age. Lohsen’s parents trained in martial arts before he was born. When he turned four, he started training with his parents and the rest is history. As a youth, Lohsen trained in Okinawan Goju Ryu, a main tradition of karate, and BJJ, which he trained in for nearly 20 years. After going 4-1 as an amateur and capturing a regional title, he turned pro in February of 2017. Now Lohsen is 7-1 and has fought for the Island Fights promotion twice. Lohsen made a name for himself when he scored a rare banana split submission in his last bout for Island Fights 53.
