Fabian Edwards remained undefeated with a first-round finish of Falco Neto at Bellator Birmingham. The victory made it three consecutive fights ended in the opening frame at Bellator’s UK event.
Fabian Edwards is the name on many of European MMA fans’ lips. When you factor in that he’s beaten a former Cage Warriors champion with over 40 fights under his belt, finished people off with flying knees and liver kicks in just six professional fights, it’s clear to see why. Against a lesser opponent in Falco Neto, Edwards had a chance to shine on the co-main event slot in front if his hometown.
A dangerous opponent in the sense of being an unknown entity, Falco Neto proved he was more than game at the weigh-ins. There, he tried to kick Fabian whilst being separated. A record of 11-9 saw him as a colossal underdog. But, he also served as a risky opponent for Birmingham’s finest.
The opening round proved the Neto case perfectly, with him having some decent exchanges with Edwards on the ground, landing numerous elbows to the body in the process.

However, as expected, class prevailed when ‘The Assassin’ delivered three upkicks to his opponent from the canvas. Then delivered three left hands that forced the stoppage. This took Fabian to 7-0 in his professional career, and either a Bellator UK headliner or named opponent in the US look likelier with each passing fight.
