Tune in following UFC Fort Lauderdale for the post-fight press conference, covering the major storylines emerging from the UFC’s latest trip to the sunshine state.
UFC Fort Lauderdale (the former UFC on ESPN 3, later switched to UFC on ESPN+ 8 / UFC Fight Night 150) went down Saturday night in Sunrise, Florida. Originally booked for Miami, the event went through a number of cosmetic changes before fighters finally hit the octagon. However, it wasn’t just the location or naming convention that wound up altered, but the main event itself. Originally rumored to feature Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa, the card would see Romero booked against Jacare Souza instead — only for Romero to drop out due to a bout with pneumonia.
In his place stepped Jack Hermansson, stepping in on short notice for a huge opportunity. ‘The Joker’ had slowly been working his way up the middleweight ranks, most recently appearing at UFC Philadelphia (UFC on ESPN 2), where he made short work of David Branch.
Jacare, however, was a different animal altogether.
Also on the UFC Fight Night 150 card, Mike Perry returned against Alex Oliveira, while Greg Hardy, the disgraced former NFL star, got another look, and another co-main event slot in the UFC, despite losing his promotional debut due to a DQ (illegal knee) against Allen Crowder.
Following the night’s action, tune in for the post-fight press conference from the BB&T Center! You can watch the live stream above.
