Bellator and LFA veteran Armando Villarreal will take on “The Jamaican Sensation” Ode Osbourne on the Contender Series on July 16.
The big hit show, Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, is back for a third season this summer. Contracts have been sent out and many fights have already been confirmed. Sources have now confirmed to Cageside Press that a bantamweight bout between Armando Villarreal and Ode Osbourne will go down on July 16.
Armando Villarreal is fighting out of Waco, Texas, and trains out of Blitz Sports MMA. The 29-year-old has a record of 5-1 and currently on a three-fight win streak. Fighting back and forth at 145 and 135, Villarreal looks to be staying at bantamweight for the time being.
Villarreal made his pro debut in 2016 on a one-fight deal in Bellator. After winning by first-round submission in Bellator and going 1-1 with XFO, his last three fights have been for LFA. He went 3-0 for that promotion as well.
Standing across from Villarreal will be 7-2 Ode Osbourne. He trains out of Pura Vida BJJ/MMA with coach and UFC fighter Zak Ottow. He is now currently on a three-fight win streak.
Osbourne won a title as an amateur, and as a pro, he’s fought for various regional promotions. His last fight was at featherweight but this time out he will be going down to 135.
