With all fighters having hit the scales, Bellator 216 is official, including the hotly anticipated main event between Michael Page and Paul Daley.
A busy weekend for MMA fans, and Bellator MMA in particular, began to really get underway Friday. Hours before Bellator 215 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT got going, fighters stepped on the scales to make Bellator 216 official. The second of back-to-back cards at the same venue, 216 was capped by the long-awaited grudge match between fearsome British strikers Michael Page and Paul Daley.
That MVP vs. Daley was part of the welterweight grand prix was just a bonus. It was the potential for an explosive finish, contained within the hands — and knees — of both men that excited fans. Plus, fights like Vitaly Minakov vs. Cheick Kongo, and the long-awaited rematch between Roy Nelson and Mirko Cro-Cop.
