UFC Wichita has a pair of welterweights on impressive winning streaks set to face off in Curtis Millender vs. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos.
A promising showdown between a pair of surging welterweights looks to be headed to the UFC Wichita card. There, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos is expected to take on Curtis Millender, with someone’s winning streak set to end. Brazil’s Combate was first to report news of the fight, which has not yet been confirmed by the UFC. The promotion’s first trip to Wichita is scheduled for March, with Junior dos Santos taking on Derrick Lewis in the main event.
Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (20-5) has been on a tear of late, winning all six fights since losing his UFC debut in 2015. Among his victories during that stretch are wins over Sean Strickland, Max Griffin, and Lyman Good. Most recently, he finished off Luigi Vendramini with a flying knee at UFC Sao Paulo last September.
Curtis Millender (17–3), meanwhile, is on a nine fight win streak dating back to 2016. He has won his first three UFC bouts, over some impressive competition: Thiago Alves, Max Griffin, and Siyar Bahadurzada. With both men on such impressive streaks, there’s no doubt the fight could have considerable impact on the 170lb division. Dos Santos is currently ranked 14th in the weight class. Millender is not ranked, but with a win, almost certainly will be.
UFC Wichita (UFC Fight Night 146) takes place March 9, 2019 at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The card airs on ESPN+ in the U.S.
