‘The Ilminator’ was returning home to Hawaii on Saturday night. With Bellator invading Honolulu for two straight nights, Bellator 213 was set to camp off an explosive weekend for Scott Coker’s MMA promotion. But besides just the fireworks in the cage, it was the message the back-to-back events, featuring lightweight and women’s flyweight title fights, sent: Bellator had got there first. They’d beat the UFC.
Yet before Ilima-Lei Macfarlane faced Valerie Letourneau in the main event in Hawaii, there was a half-dozen or so early bouts to get the night started. Those would air online on a number of websites and the Bellator app, including right here on Cageside Press!
