Brazil’s Johnny Walker is heading straight back to the octagon, taking on Justin Ledet at UFC Fortaleza just a few months after his UFC debut in Argentina last month.
Johnny Walker is wasting no time in getting back in the octagon. On Sunday, Justin Ledet revealed on social media that he’d been booked to fight Walker at UFC Fortaleza in February next year. The card, known as UFC on ESPN+ 2 or UFC Fight Night 144, takes place in Fortaleza, Brazil on February 2 at the Northeast Olympic Training Center.
Walker (15-3), a native of Brazil, made his UFC debut just last month at UFC Argentina. There, he made short work of Khalil Rountree Jr., finishing the TUF veteran with an elbow just under two minutes in. Walker, who won his way into the UFC on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Brazil, extended his win streak to seven with the victory.
Justin Ledet (9-1, 1NC) started his UFC tenure as a heavyweight, earning a trio of wins against Chase Sherman, Mark Godbeer, and Zu Anyanwu out of the gate. Dropping down to light heavyweight resulted in the first loss of his career, against Aleksandar Rakic at UFC Hamburg in July. Despite the setback, Ledet will stay the course at 205lbs for his meeting with walker.
UFC Fight Night 144 in Fortaleza is headlined by a rematch between top featherweights Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes.
