Artem Lobov has stayed true to his word following UFC Moncton, and returned the 20% fine Johnson received for missing weight at the event.
Back at UFC Moncton at the end of October, Artem Lobov told reporters that if Michael Johnson missed weight, he’d return the 20% fine taken from Johnson by the athletic commission. Lobov made the offer because Johnson took the fight on just two week’s notice, filling in for Zubaira Tukhugov, yanked from the event for his involvement in the UFC 229 fiasco. Low and behold, Johnson just barely missed weight — and now, Lobov has proven to be a man of his word.
On Twitter Thursday, Johnson announced that Lobov had returned the fine money. In the posting, he wrote that “in my book respect is always earned, never given. Hats off to @rushammer for not only a tough fight in our last outing, but also being a man of your word. Respect was earned, hands down.”
Lobov and Johnson battled in an entertaining three-round co-main event, where Johnson earned a unanimous decision victory. The win put Johnson (19–13) on a two-fight win streak in the UFC featherweight division.

Lobov (13–15–1 (1)) dropped to 2-5 in the UFC at the event. He’s currently on a three fight losing streak. He may, however, earn some karma points for this.
