The UFC’s final date on the FOX network will feature lightweight vets Jim Miller and Charles Oliveira, as they throw down at UFC Milwaukee.
Next month’s UFC Milwaukee, the final UFC on FOX card before the promotion jumps to ESPN in 2019, has added a battle of lightweight veterans. On Wednesday, the UFC announced via its official website that Jim Miller, the most tenured fighter in the organization, would take on Brazil’s Charles Oliveira at the event. The card, officially UFC on FOX 31, takes place on December 15.
Miller (29–12 (1)) recently became the first fighter in UFC history to reach 30 fights with the promotion. He’s coming off a win over Alex White at UFC 228. That much needed victory snapped a four-fight skid for Miller, during which he suffered defeats to Anthony Pettis, Francisco Trinaldo, Dustin Poirier, and Dan Hooker.
Miller, who made his UFC debut in 2008 at UFC 89, will look to make it two in a row when he takes on Charlies Oliveira. The Brazilian recently set a major record of his own: Oliveira (24–8 (1)) owns eleven submission wins in the UFC, snapping Royce Gracie’s mark at UFC Sao Paulo with a win over Christos Giagos this past September.
Oliveira will enter UFC on FOX 31 on a two fight win streak, with the other victory of late coming against Clay Guida at UFC 225.
UFC Milwaukee will take place at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 15. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports.
