While UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov remains a free man after sparking a brawl at UFC 229, three members of his entourage are in custody per UFC President Dana White, and his $2 million dollar purse is being withheld by the NSAC.
After the ruckus that went down at UFC 229 — and that’s putting it lightly — there will be legal complications to contend with, and other fallout including from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, for Khabib Nurmagomedov and his entourage. Members of the lightweight champion’s team jumped into the octagon after Nurmagomedov himself jumped out to attack Dillon Danis, McGregor’s jiu-jitsu coach and teammate. That resulted in a large brawl and a near-riot at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. It all left UFC President Dana White “disgusted.”
Appearing with Megan Olivi post-fight on Fox Sports, White said that he saw “a lot of bad stuff. A lot of stuff that shouldn’t happen.”
“Khabib jumped over the cage, went after one of Conor’s guys who I guess was talking trash to him, and all hell broke lose. I don’t even know what to say right now. I’m just disgusted and sick over it,” White said on the broadcast.

White also confirmed that “three of [Khabib’s] guys have been arrested and are on their way to jail right now. The three guys who were involved in the incident, I believe it was those three — are on their way to jail right now.” In a separate scrum with reporters backstage, White also confirmed that while Conor McGregor was paid his purse, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s $2 million fight purse was withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Video of the incident has spread like wildfire online.
UPDATE, 2:35 AM ET: At the UFC 229 post-fight press conference, Dana White said that Conor McGregor has refused to press charges, and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team members have been released from custody. He did, however, indicate that those members would not participate in any future UFC events.
