With eight newly signed fighters, Invicta FC is bolstering its ranks, adding strawweight, featherweight, and flyweight talent to the promotion.
Invicta FC, the all-women’s MMA outfit that airs exclusively on UFC Fight Pass, announced a number of roster additions on Thursday. In a press release, the company unveiled they had signed on eight additional fighters between the featherweight, flyweight, and strawweight ranks. The news included familiar names such as Danielle Taylor and Jamie Moyle, both who whom did recent stints in the UFC.
Moyle (4-3) was one of five strawweight fighters the promotion has picked up. ‘Love Boat’ started out her professional career with Invicta, which makes the signing something of a homecoming. The appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 23, and went on to fight in the UFC three times, going 1-2 in that span. Back-to-back unanimous decision loses precipitated her exit from the promotion.
Danielle Taylor (9-4) also put her him in with the UFC, appearing five times and going 2-3 in that span. He pair of wins came against Jessica Penne (Former Invicta champ and UFC title challenger) and Seo Hee Ham (current Road FC atomweight champ). Another ex-UFC fighter, Viviane Pereira, is also onboard. Her release was reported earlier this month. Kanako Murata (8-1) has joined as well, sharing her time outside Japan’s RIZIN FF exclusively with Invicta FC. Valerie Wong (0-0), meanwhile, signs on as a rookie.
Pereira and Moyle faced each other at UFC 212, with Brazil’s Pereira earning the victory.
At featherweight, Faith McMah (6-3) (formerly Faith Van Duin) is back in the fold, and Zarah Fairn Dos Santos (6-2) is in as well. And at flyweight, Caitlin Sammons (0-0) rounds out the bunch as she will embark on her pro career with Invicta FC.
Debut dates for all eight fighters are expected in the near future. Invicta FC 31, meanwhile, goes down this weekend in Kansas City, MO.
