Flyweights John Moraga and Deiveson Figueiredo brought the action on the UFC Lincoln main card on Fox Sports 1 Saturday night, and Figueriedo scored another finish inside the octagon.
John Moraga and Deiveson Figueiredo met in a clash of flyweights who were simply on fire going into UFC Lincoln on Saturday in Nebraska. Deiveson entered the night undefeated as a professional and had won three fights in the UFC. John Moraga, on the other hand, had won three fights in a row after going on the first three fight losing streak of his career in 2017. Moraga was in a suddenly rejuvenated flyweight division, where potentially anyone is only a win or two away from a title shot.
The first round began with Moraga hitting Figueredo hard, which it looked like it stunned the Brazilian. Figueredo quickly reversed and got Moraga to the ground where he looked to stay on top and land some solid shots. Near the end of the round it appeared as if Moraga tried to secure a leglock, however Figueiredo slipped out and remained on top for the rest of the frame.
Figuereido put his power on display in the second round, as he moved forward and dropped Moraga, hurting him badly. Moraga would recover just enough to get back to his feet and try to throw punches, however he was hit with a brutal body shot that put him down for good. That was all she wrote.

Figueredo now has the longest win streak in the flyweight division and is dominating some of the best at flyweight. Where he fits in the title picture remains to be seen, but his post-fight comments were clear: he’s looking for his shot.
