Lincoln, NB — After Friday’s official weigh-ins ahead of UFC Fight Night 135, as UFC Lincoln is otherwise known, the entire card faced off. The good news: everyone made weight. A plus for the event, taking place Saturday. Going down at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, the show is topped by a grudge match between Justin Gaethje and James Vick. And while the two have had plenty of bad blood between them, it didn’t spill over as the pair stood opposite each other Friday.
Similarly, main card openers Eryk Anders and Tim Williams were a class act, with the pair shaking hands a day before throwing down in the octagon. The same could not be said of flyweights John Moraga and Deiveson Figueiredo, however. That duo got a little too close for comfort, leading to some back-and-forth jawing by the end of the face-off, where matchmaker Mick Maynard had to separate the two.
The usually reserved Joanne Calderwood was amped up as well as she faced off with Kalindra Faria. Both fighters are heading into UFC Lincoln on two fight losing streaks, adding a bit of extra motivation with the dreaded 0-3 looming.
