PFL 5’s main event has undergone a late change, as Brian Foster is off the card, and Jason High has stepped up to take his place.
A last minute change to the planned main event has hit the PFL 5 card in Long Island this Thursday. On Monday, the promotion confirmed that Brian Foster, originally set to top the card against Natan Schulte, was off the event. In his place steps UFC veteran Jason High. MMA Junkie was among the first to report the news.

Foster (28-10), a WSOF and UFC veteran, won his first bout of the season at PFL 2 thanks to a crushing knee against Ramsey Nijem. No reason has been made public by the promotion as to Foster’s removal from the card. However, Foster’s manager told MMA Junkie that an illness was the culprit.
Jason High (21–7), notoriously cut from the UFC for shoving a ref, was not expected to take part in the PFL 5 card. He was choked out by Efrain Escudero at PFL 2, leaving both fighters pointless as Escudero had missed weight.
The man who has remained in place throughout, meanwhile, is Natan Schulte (12-3). The Brazilian captured a decision win over Chris Wade in his first fight of the PFL season.
PFL 5 takes place Thursday, August 2 at the Nassau Colosseum in Uniondale, NY.
